The dredge was towed to their Seattle yard, where Manson’s crew and marine equipment experts removed the main pump, A.C. wound rotor motor, and liquid rheostat and installed the latest dredge pump and dredge pump drive technology.

The new system includes 6,000hp A.C. permanent magnet motors with state-of-the-art variable frequency drives that power a GIW pump. Manson worked with Hagler Systems to select the new pump.

These upgrades are set to enhance the dredge’s performance capabilities and reduce emissions by more than 30% while powered by our onboard diesel generators,” said Manson.

The new system was tested last week in the Seattle Yard.

In the coming weeks, the CSD will depart for California.
