Boskalis TSHD Shoalway wraps up Barrow River dredging

Boskalis completed another maintenance dredging campaign with its trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) Shoalway in the Barrow River for the Port of Waterford, Ireland, recently.

Between the green cliffs, the vessel was dredging sediment that has naturally returned there via currents.

It was a maintenance dredging work of which Boskalis carries out many every year in Ireland, the UK and also on the European mainland.

In this way we keep the ports accessible for seagoing vessels and contribute to facilitating world trade. But meanwhile, we realize that we are privileged to be able to work with our vessels in such beautiful places,” said Boskalis.

“Because with meandering rivers, green hills and the world’s second-oldest lighthouse, the Barrow River and the Port of Waterford is a feast for the eyes.”
