Havant Borough Council will be carrying out the next beach recycling campaign along the Eastoke frontage in the following weeks to help reduce the risk of coastal flooding and erosion to properties and infrastructure.

According to the Council, the works will start w/c 4th March 2024 and will be completed by 27th March 2024 ahead of the Easter holidays.

Beach recycling is the movement of material from areas of beach build up to areas of erosion.

This work helps to restore beach levels and increase the standard of protection against flooding at Eastoke, Hayling Island.

Also, this beach recycling campaign is set to reinstate the beach crest following the winter season.

The Council said that the scheme will be carried out by Ovenden Earthmoving Co Ltd.
