Katsa’s new Dredge Pump Gearboxes almost ready for delivery

Katsa’s assembly team is just finishing the first new Dredge Pump Gearboxes. This gearbox is rated to 1330kW / 1600rpm, and dry weight is some 4700kg.

Configuration includes direct dredge pump mounting, PTO´s, integrated hydraulically operated wet running clutch as well as gearbox control unit with CAN-bus interface.

“Gearbox tailored design is developed in close collaboration with the end-customer to achieve the highest reliability and efficiency in harsh dredging operations,” said Katsa.

“We are proud as ADS van Stigt to see the final product of the dredge pump gearbox we developed together with our partner Katsa,” said Marc IJzerman, Sales Manager Industry & Offshore at ADS van STIGT.

“The thrust bearing of the dredging pump is integrated in this gearbox and the output shaft is the impeller shaft which results in a compact overall footprint of the dredge pump and gearbox combination. The gearbox also has a PTO which drives to gland water pump for the gland water seal.”

This unit will soon be ready for delivery, added Katsa.
