The company has been tasked by St. Johns County, Florida, to develop a list of environmentally and financially sustainable long-term solutions to maintain and stabilize the Summer Haven shoreline and flow of the river.

INTERA-GEC is planning to present the final version to the Board of County Commissioners for consideration at the year’s end.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers-selected contractor, Southwinds Construction, is expected to start the ICW dredging operation at Matanzas Inlet in October. The dredging spoils will then be used on Summer Haven in an effort to close the breach.
