Orion Marine Group has just released an amazing photo of a 55-year-old legend, cutter suction dredge King Fisher working in Texas.

The robust 12,000 HP King Fisher is currently in Port Arthur, Texas working on the USACE Sabine Neches Waterway Maintenance Dredging Project.

Here’s a glimpse of her power:

• Main Engine: 3,300 HP
• Main Gen Engines: 4,100 HP total
• Ladder Pump Motor: 1,600 HP
• Stand By Gen Engines: 1,400 HP total
• Cutter Motor: 1,000 HP
• Hauling Motor: 300 HP
• Spud Motors: 300 HP total

Orion Marine won the $17.9 million Texas maintenance dredging project in August 2023. The work in Port Arthur has an estimated completion date of April 25, 2024.

The Port Arthur, located on the Sabine Neches Waterway, is strategically located midway on the barge shipping routes of the intercoastal waterway that extends from St. Marks, Florida to Brownsville, Texas.
