Straatman BV – specialized in fabrication of hydraulic presses, heavy winches and custom build projects for dredging industry – has received another order from a returning customer.
“The biggest compliment you can get is a returning customer. Last year we supplied two pinch ball joints to Weeks Marine and now we have been rewarded by them with a new order for the engineering and production of three pinch ball joints,” Straatman said in the statement.
These specific type of ball joints will be used on suction cutter dredgers, between the floating pipeline and the dredger itself.
One of the greatest advantages of this ball joint type is the easy and quick connection and disconnection of the floating pipeline.
The three pinch ball joints ordered by Weeks Marine will have an inner diameter of 700 mm, a 20 degree tilting angle and a maximum working pressure of 31 bar.
The engineering and production of the equipment will begin right away. Delivery of the pinch ball joints is set for late 2021 or early 2022.
