According to USACE, the work will be performed in Anchorage with an estimated completion date of January 26, 2022.

An important aspect of the Anchorage maintenance dredging contract is hydrographic surveying. Two hydrographic surveys are conducted each week to monitor project.

The usual dredging season runs from May 1 to Nov. 1, when the port is ice-free.

For over 16 years, Manson has worked consistently at Anchorage Harbor and the Port of Alaska (POA) to perform dredging services.

Last year, the company’s 2,000-cubic-yard hopper dredge Westport worked in the Port of Alaska to maintain the seafloor to the congressionally approved depth of -35 feet.

An estimated 1.1 million cubic yards of material was collected during the 2020 dredging season.
