CSD Krios completes sea trials

Last week, the self-propelled cutter suction dredger KRIOS, under construction for Royal Boskalis Westminster, returned from successful sea trials on the North-Sea and the second Maasvlakte.

All planned tests were successfully completed under the supervision of Boskalis and Bureau Veritas, informs Royal IHC.

The newbuild is a sister vessel of the CSD Helios, taken into service in 2017.

CSD Krios has a total installed power of 23,700kW, pumping capacity of 15,600kW and a maximum cutter capacity of 7,000kW.

With a length of 152m and a maximum dredging depth of 35m, this vessel falls under the category mega cutter.
