ADA’s 81st Annual Conference Kicks Off in London

ADA’s 81st Annual Conference & AGM was officially inaugurated today, November 14, at the Institution of Civil Engineers’ headquarters in London.

The conference will bring together over 200 delegates from across the flood and water level management industry to discuss the key policy issues of the moment.

Members attending the event include those from the Environment Agency, internal drainage boards, local authorities, regional flood and coastal committees, Natural Resources Wales, and the Coal Authority, as well as a number of ADA’s associate members who supply the sector.

The list of speakers for this year:

  • Sue Hayman MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs;
  • John Curtin, Executive Director of Flood & Coastal Risk Management, Environment Agency;
  • Robert Hössen, an expert in crisis management for Veiligheidsregio Noord-Holland Noord (VRNHN), which carries out fire, rescue, ambulance and crisis management in North Holland;
  • David Cooper, Deputy Director – Flood & Coastal Erosion Risk Management at Defra.

The event will promote ADA’s vision for flood risk management authorities working in partnership together, delivering effective services through good governance and strategic planning.
