The Orange Lake dredging scheme, located in the City of New Port Richey, Florida, was successfully completed last week, local media reports.

According to Martin Field, construction project manager for the New Port Richey Public Works Department, dredging contractor Energy Resources Inc. removed approximately 3,600 cubic yards of sediment from the bottom of Orange Lake.

It is estimated that the site restoration works around the lake will be completed in the next couple of weeks.

The city hired the Chesterfield, Missouri-based firm after it submitted the low bid, $333,200, to improve water quality in the lake and improve its ability to contain stormwater run-off.
