Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority Presents Port Development Plans

Raivis Veckagans, acting CEO of Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA), presented the latest port infrastructure development plans yesterday, during the ‘Port Infrastructure Development Day’.

The members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, key Ukrainian and foreign engineering and construction companies, such as China Harbor Engineering Company, Sumitomo Corporation, Cyes Maritime Works and AECOM, attended the meeting, USPA said in its release.

“Attracting new contractors will ensure the most efficient offer in terms of quality and cost, will open market and give impetus to the development of businesses operating in the ports,” the port authority said.

In particular, USPA plans to continue implementing projects of construction of berth 1-z and reconstruction of berth 7 in Odessa seaport and start reconstruction of the hydraulic part of berths 1 and 2 in Chernomorsk seaport this year.

During the presentation, USPA also added that they will start the reconstruction of the hydraulic part of berths 3 and 4 in Mariupol seaport and the construction of berth 8 in Nikolaev seaport.
