Boskalis-Van Oord joint venture has been busy for the last couple of months with the creation of an artificial island in the bay of Jakarta, Indonesia.

Trailing suction hopper dredgers began the works in late September, and are now dredging the sand that is being used for this massive reclamation project.

Approximately a year ago, Boskalis-Van Oord joint venture won this EUR 350 million worth Pluit City Land Development Project.

The project involves reclaiming approximately 160 hectares of new land requiring in excess of 20 million cubic meters of dredged sand as well as installation of stone revetment protection and soil improvement work.

Construction works for the project are expected to be completed in 2018.
