Photo Update: Dredgers in Suez

The Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), Dredging Suez Canal, has just posted on its official facebook page the latest photos from the New Suez Canal dredging project.

About 228 million cubic meters of water-saturated sand has been dredged so far, Head of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA), Mohab Mamish, said two days ago.

This amount represents 88.47% of total 258 million cubic meters of material that should be dredged as part of the Suez Canal Development Project.

Official inauguration of the new waterway has been set for August 2015.
