The fifth phase of the North Topsail Beach Shoreline Protection Project is well under way with Norfolk Dredging performing the work.
Construction works on the project started in late 2014 near 3588 Island Drive with the aim to reach the Surf City line.
Sand for this restoration project was taken offshore of North Topsail Beach and pumped onto the beach via pipeline. During the project, approximately 1,500,000 CY of sand will be dredged and delivered to the beach.
On the pictures, the contractor is performing phase 5 of the project between Gray Street and Green Street in Ocean City.
