In 2013 and 2014 Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. reclaimed land for the 85-hectares Bronka container terminal in St. Petersburg, Russia.

The EUR 130 million contract for dredging and construction of the MMPK Bronka (Marine Multipurpose Complex Bronka) was awarded to Boskalis by CJSC Baltstroy back in September 2013. The project involves construction of a 6 kilometer long and 14.4 m deep shipping channel, turning basin and berth pockets for the new port facility.

This follows the EUR 25 million Bronka port land reclamation contract that was awarded to Boskalis in June 2013.

In 2014 alone, over 15 million m³ meters of clay, silt and sand was dredged using a wide range of equipment including medium sized trailing suction hopper dredgers, cutter suction dredgers and backhoe dredgers.

The project is expected to be completed in late 2015.
