First Selectman Mike Tetreau has announced that the Town of Fairfield will host a Public Informational Meeting regarding the Mill River Cleanup on Thursday, February 26, 2015.

During this meeting, representatives from the Exide Group, the owners of the property on the Post Road where the cleanup is taking place, and TRC Engineering, the firm that has been conducting the cleanup work on behalf of the Exide Group, will present information regarding work that was completed in 2014 and will give a preview of work planned for 2015.

In addition to First Selectman Tetreau, representatives from the Harbor Commission, Shellfish Commission, Conservation Commission, Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP), staff from the Town’s Conservation and Public Works Departments and members of the neighborhood group FairPLAN will attend the meeting.

First Selectman Tetreau said: “ Once the cleanup is complete, this long-term brownfield can become a productive part of our town and tax base. ”
