Manson Bags Port of Port Arthur Dredging Deal

Business & Finance

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District, awarded the option to the Port Arthur Canal and Junction maintenance dredging contract in the amount of $508,200 to Manson Construction Co., for dredging of the docks at the Port of Port Arthur.

The contractor is required to remove approximately 80,000 cubic yards of material from the channel with material being placed in Placement Area 8 (located across the channel from the port facilities).

This work is a contract option to our federal contract and paid for by the Port of Port Arthur and allows them to address critical shoal areas within the port facility,” said Paula Rankin Wise, an operations manager with the USACE Galveston District’s Navigation Branch.

According to Wise, work will begin around Nov. 22 and take approximately 22 days for completion.
