Minister of Planning Ashraf al-Arabi said that the successful experiment in funding the New Suez Canal project could be repeated through the initial public offering for other national projects.

Al-Arabi pointed out to the success of the initial public offering of the Suez Canal project’s investment certificates.

The Egyptians’ confidence in the Suez Canal project helped successfully collect EGP 64 bn over eight days only, he added.

The New Suez Canal project will boost Egypt’s economy and help speed up the movement of vessels through the 193 km long canal, which connects the Red Sea to the Mediterranean Sea.
