Carlson Introduces MC Pro Vx5 3D Machine Control Sensor

The Carlson Machine Control has introduced the new MC Pro Vx5 3D machine control sensor. Combine it with Carlson Machine Control’s CBx5 Control Box Console, the next generation, ruggedized, touch-screen control box, and get true simplicity of operation, installation and portability.

Both are available exclusively from Carlson Machine Control and its authorized MC dealers. The MC Pro Vx5 offers six components integrated into one compact, rugged and easy-to-use unit that provides efficient machine control operations. The CBx5, which is designed for use in heavy equipment utilized in mining, landfills, dredging, blast drilling and more, operates with a fast, industry-standard Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor and includes MS Windows 7.

The MC Pro Vx5 is just 26.32 inches (66.85cm) by 8.23 inches (20.90cm) by 4.8 inches (12.19cm) and weighs just 5.1 pounds (2.3kg), making the sensor completely portable and easy to install. The rugged IP69K unit provides GPS plus GLONASS L1/L2 high precision positioning and heading – up to 20Hz, along with dual axis slope.

The MC Pro Vx5 was developed to provide total simplicity of operation, yet to have the most advanced features,” says Randy Noland, V.P. of Carlson Machine Control. “It easily mounts to a dozer, compactor, excavator, drill, scraper shovel and more and it connects with just one cable.”

In addition to the GPS and GLONASS capabilities, the Carlson MC Pro Vx5 also has a RTK UHF radio built-in, meeting all new FCC regulations with additional World Radio options available. The CBx5, one of the most advanced systems available today, has communication ports that ensure future sensors and application features will be supported and the unit has a scalable option for integrated GPS+GLONASS. The CBx5 also supports all of Carlson’s machine control application software, such as MineRover™, Landfill Rover™, Basic Earthmover™, and DredgeRover™.

The CBx5 is a powerful control box,” notes Noland. “The clarity of the 10.4-inch color touch-screen display is excellent, even in direct sunlight. Whether combined with the MC Pro Vx5 3D machine control sensor or others on the market, the CBx5 offers true simplicity of operation,” he adds. “With the Vx5, the system can be connected with just one cable and, depending on application, can have a GNSS board integrated inside the control box.”
