USA: Caterpillar Awarded NJPA Contract

Business & Finance

Caterpillar has been awarded a renewed contract by the National Joint Powers Alliance (NJPA) to supply “Construction Equipment together with Related Accessories, Supplies and Services” to NJPA’s more than 30,000 members. NJPA is a municipal agency that creates a business and service relationship alliance between buyers and suppliers, providing the opportunity for members to purchase through nationally leveraged, competitively bid contracts that offer premium products and services from nearly 100 NJPA-qualified vendors.

The new contract will allow NJPA members—”legislatively qualified agencies,” such as governmental agencies and educational institutions—to continue using NJPA’s National Cooperative Purchasing Programs to secure the full range of Cat® products and services through the extensive network of Cat dealers. NJPA’s contract purchasing solutions are competitively bid on behalf of the NJPA member with the aim of giving members access to high-quality products and preferred brands, while saving the member time and delivering volume-pricing discounts.

NJPA is a government agency that holds its own contracts, which means, says NJPA, that NJPA members can be assured of knowing their contracts are solicited, awarded and monitored by a responsible agency with a publicly-elected board. The new contract, awarded to Caterpillar on July 19, 2011, will take effect upon expiration of the current contract, October 19, 2011.
