Rock armoring works in full swing at Trigg beach

Coastal Erosion

The zig-zag pedestrian access ramp opposite Clarko Reserve in Trigg (near the intersection of Karrinyup Road and West Coast Drive) is being upgraded through rock armoring works, the City of Stirling said.

Rock armoring is the process of placing large limestone boulders to absorb the energy from waves, providing a natural defense against the strong environmental forces of the ocean.

This project will also include a layer of Geotech to further strengthen the works, the City added.

The aim of the project is to prevent further erosion and undermining of the ramp.

This asset, among many others along our coast, is vital to the amenity and connection that it provides for our community,” the City said.

This coastal protection program is set to be completed by March 6, 2025.
