EXCLUSIVE: Dredging wraps up at Neykurendhoo Harbor new basin

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has just released the latest update on the Hdh. Neykurendhoo Harbor dredging program.

According to MTCC, this very important development project is well underway.

We have completed new harbor basin dredging operations. Construction of quay wall structure is progressing, with 71% completion,” said MTCC.

Also, the quay wall concrete works are currently ongoing.

The comprehensive scope of the project includes various critical operations:

  • New harbor dredging totaling 22,323 cubic meters,
  • Maintenance dredging operations covering 6,806 cubic meters,
  • Channel dredging operations amounting to 1,985 cubic meters,
  • Construction of a 366-meter breakwater,
  • Construction of a 166-meter revetment,
  • Construction of a 212-meter quay wall,
  • Installation of a 10-meter by 9-meter concrete ramp,
  • Establishment of 1,859 square meters of harbor pavement,
  • Implementation of harbor and navigational lights,
  • Installation of mooring buoys.

This project marks a significant step towards enhancing maritime infrastructure in the region, said MTCC.
