Newmont takes delivery of the new split hopper barge

PaxOcean, part of the CSL Group, has successfully delivered split hopper barge Alawir II to Newmont Corporation.

With a length of 61.6 meters and a depth of 13 meters, Alawir II (Hull G8059) is engineered for the most demanding dredging and material transport operations.

This vessel is built to tackle the toughest environments with precision and efficiency, ensuring controlled disposal and accurate material placement.

The advanced split hopper mechanism makes this vessel ideal for environmental, coastal, and mining operations, where both precision and reliability are paramount.

Its design allows for seamless handling of various dredged materials, giving the client the confidence to meet the highest operational standards.

The sister vessel, Amaniel II (Hull G8060) is currently under construction at PaxOcean and will be delivered to Newmont in the first quarter of 2025.
