This specialized floating pontoon will be used to harvest carnallite (potassium salt) in the Dead Sea area in Jordan.

In addition, the salt harvester will be fully electric, thus contributing to a smaller carbon footprint and allowing APC to operate in a more sustainable way.

At the moment, IHC multidisciplinary team is working hard across multiple locations on fabrication, assembly, and welding of the harvester’s components.

The four tracks – designed for reliability and easy maintenance – performed successfully during this week’s tests. Together with the track suspension and steering system they will minimise downtime and maximize performance for the client.

Royal IHC expects this customised salt harvester to be delivered to Arab Potash Company by the end of 2025.
