Hall Contracting ready for another dredging project in Darwin

The Northern Territory Government has announced the commencement of backhoe dredging operations at the Darwin Shiplift Facility.

According to the NT Government, dredging of the Darwin Ship Lift Marine Activity Zone is set to commence on January 6, 2025.

Backhoe Dredges Woomera and Nulla Nulla together with Barges Stradbroke and PM South, Tug – Salute and Work Boat – Groote Eylandt are to undertake this dredging project.

The dredge Nulla Nulla will be operational for Material Offloading Facility (MOF) dredging from January 6th until the Woomera becomes available, with tugs maneuvering barges between backhoe dredge vessels and the Material Offloading Facility.

Commercial and recreational marine traffic are requested to avoid the Darwin Ship-lift Marine Activity Zone through the works.
