McLaughlin & Harvey has been working on this project with the joint venture partners, Boskalis Westminster, combining their extensive experience in marine works at ports and harbors through collaboration and innovative and sustainable solutions.

Around 7 hectares of new land is being reclaimed, with the old Granville Dock, Tidal Basin marinas, and the Wick Channel already being infilled by approximately 740,000m³ of marine dredged material by Boskalis.

Works also include decommissioning the marina infrastructure and old dock gates, removing the existing swing bridge, and installing new utility infrastructure throughout the project.

Once completed, the Western Docks will provide new land for future development, helping the Port of Dover achieve its ambition outlined in its 2050 masterplan.
