Boskalis improving infrastructure of the Scandinavian and Baltic countries

Dredging

Working towards the new year in relative calm is not an option for Boskalis Terramare.

Two projects were recently awarded to the company’s Finland-based subsidiary. One of these projects will be carried out in Finland itself.

In southern Turku, Boskalis is working on the development and construction of a new and modern ferry terminal that is needed to enable tourist and freight traffic between Finland and Sweden. Among other things, the crews will construct a 250-meter-long jetty and a roll-on-roll-off ramp.

The other project will take place in Lithuania. With the trailing suction hopper dredger Freeway, backhoe dredger Magnor, tugs Union Onyx and Union Topaz and the Terraferre barges 501 and 502, the company is going to dredge various types of soil from the port of Klaipèda in order to make the existing quays more accessible.

So Boskalis’ northern lights are shining brightly this winter, making an important contribution to the infrastructure of the Scandinavian and Baltic countries.
