NJDOT completes St. George’s maintenance dredging program

The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) has completed the dredging of St. George’s Thoroughfare.

“The maintenance dredging that was done is essential to ensure the waterway remains navigable and safe for boat traffic,” the City of Brigantine Mayor, Vince Sera, said.

The sand from the thoroughfare was placed along the south end jetty to help reinforce and protect the area where severe erosion has impacted the nearby homes and city infrastructure.

“The City is grateful for the assistance of Senator Vince Polistina, whose efforts were instrumental in helping to secure this project for Brigantine,” added Sera.

“We would also like to thank the NJDOT and all involved for their hard work and commitment to improving our waterways and safeguarding our coastline.”
