The physical reclamation of 1,153 hectares of land from K. Fushidhiggaru Falhu was initially launched on December 18 as part of the Rasmale’ Project.

The administration had aimed to complete reclamation within eight months. However, the project experienced delays, halting progress until now.

Initially, the original land reclamation contract was awarded to Capital Marine and Civil Construction Company (CMC), based in Sri Lanka.

This contract was later cancelled by the administration, which expressed a preference for an alternative arrangement not involving land allocations in exchange for services.
