USACE gearing up for the 2025 West Coast dredging project

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District will soon release an Invitation for Bids (IFB) to meet the requirements of the West Coast Hopper Maintenance Dredging project 2025.

This dredging project includes work at Humboldt Bay, CA (HUM); Mouth of the Columbia River, OR/WA (MCR); Lower Columbia River, OR/WA (LCR); and Coos Bay, OR (COO).

Approximately 3.2M cubic yards of routine maintenance dredging at HUM, LCR, and MCR will be included as mandatory line items, with additional optional items including COO for approximately 1.45M cubic yards, to be awarded based on project needs and availability of funding.

USACE intends to host two virtual presolicitation meetings, the first on 22nd November and second on 9 January 2025 to openly share information and discuss the project and assumptions prior to the solicitation being issued.

The final solicitation will be available for download on or about 16 January 2024 with bids due 30 days after advertisement.

The anticipated period of performance for work is 1 May 2025 through 15 December 2025.
