This new harbor is more than just infrastructure – it is a lifeline for the people of Jamestown,” said the President Addo.

“This project, which had been a dream since 1965, now stands as a modern facility that will empower the livelihoods of our hardworking fisherfolk and transform the local economy.”

The capital development project included dredging, breakwater construction, berthing facilities, navigational aids, paved roads and yard, water supply and drainage works, electrical engineering works, mechanical equipment etc.

Work on the Jamestown Fishing Harbor started in 2018 through the collaborative efforts of a number of stakeholders, including the Ghana Ports and Harbors Authority (GPHA), CRCC Harbor and Channel Engineering Bureau Group Co. Ltd, the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development and the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), with funding from the People’s Republic of China.
