According to the Wattle Range Council, despite some delays caused by recent storms, a good result has been achieved and the boat ramp is now fully functional in time for the upcoming fishing and holiday seasons.

VMS will be demobilizing their dredge, the ‘Eva-K’, from the Beachport boat ramp today (Monday, September 16). People in the area are asked to keep a safe distance as the equipment is removed.

Since 2018, the contractor has been dredging sand from the Beachport area in the Limestone Coast Region once or twice a year.

The dredging is necessary due to a constant inflow of sand in to the area. The main cause of siltation is significant long wave energy that is present in Beachport.
