According to Virginia Beach Councilman Joash Schulman, SMC plans to begin beach nourishment sand placement efforts by Monday, June 24th, 2024.

SMC’s schedule indicates that beach nourishment work will be between the Fentress Ave beach access (next to Buoy 44) and 4524 Ocean View Ave at the time of the 4th of July holiday.

The contractor has acknowledged that no-work will be conducted from noon, Wednesday, July 3rd, 2024 noon, Friday, July 5th, 2024. During the no-work timeframe, SMC will minimize the restricted work area to the best of their ability for public safety, while maximizing access to the beach.
