The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, has just released the latest update on the Brevard Mid-Reach Renourishment program.

USACE, in coordination with Brevard Co., will focus on renourishing Mid-Reach dunes between South Patrick Shores and Indian Harbour Beach Club to provide maximum coastal protection to critically eroded shoreline before the start of the 2024 hurricane season.

Also, beach operations will focus on this segment until April 30, when all beach work must cease to comply with turtle nesting season restrictions.

When renourishment resumes in November, the contractor will return to complete renourishing any remaining dunes and all templated berms in the Mid-Reach segment, as well as renourishment of the entire South Reach segment as originally planned, said USACE.
