The project was developed by a local voluntary association, Foreningen Hunderevet, with the aim to recreate parts of the former stone reefs in the area.

The new reef will improve marine biodiversity and is also intended to work as coastal protection.

“We handled stone supply, transport and installation as well as a full survey and documentation package,” the company said.

The project was wrapped up over the winter months.

Peter Madsen is a privately owned company, which since 1954 has specialised in all forms of marine construction works and support.

These include seabed preparations for offshore wind turbines, cable routes and transformer stations, capital and maintenance dredging, placement of scour protection, trenching and backfilling, construction of breakwaters, installation of stone beds, etc.
