Dragflow DRP Series busy in Germany

Equipment

A sediment removal scheme on the Wehra reservoir, located deep in the German Black Forest, is currently underway.

Dragflow

The facility, built in 1977, serves as a storage facility for a cavern power station. Additionally, in the course of extensive remedial measures, the lake has to be cleared of sediments.

For this project, a Dragflow’s radio-controlled dredges – DRP Series is being used.

From November 2020 to March 2021, sediments will be pumped over a distance of 2 km across the lake. Also, the material will then be filtered and collected in geotextile bags.

Finally, the DRP Series Dredge will work fully automatically, unmanned, 24-hour operation with a GPS and Echosounder.
