The project will include both dune and beach berm construction along approximately 2.6 miles of coastline from Vilano Beach to South Ponte Vedra Beach.

As soon as the pipeline assembly is ready, the contractor will start pumping sand onto the damaged coastline.

The initial construction will include placement of approximately 1.3 million cubic yards of sand dredged from shoals located within St. Augustine Inlet.

The project will extend from the Ocean Villas at Serenata Beach to just north of Nease Beach Front Park.

According to the St. Johns County, the beach renourishment operations are set to begin in early or mid-October 2020. Construction will proceed from south to north along the beach, with the completion set for the end of November.

The officials are also planning future periodic nourishment events at multi-year intervals.
