Land & Water Group has just announced the successful completion of the Thurrock dredging project on the River Thames.

The main goal of the scheme was to remove contaminated materials from the berth of the marine terminal.

For the project, the Land & Water team used their largest long reach excavator, the ZX690.

“Our team used ZX690 long reach excavator to dredge down to -13.5CD so that larger vessels can enter the area,” the company said.

Land & Water also added that this was no straightforward project, especially as Thurrock sits at the end of the Thames in a fast flowing tidal environment.

The company concluded by saying that they are committed to maintaining and improving the UK’s diverse waterways.

They frequently use their dredging expertise to keep water bodies across the country navigable. And this project was no exception.
