Southern Dredging Bags $7 million USACE’s Contract

Southern Dredging Co. Inc. from Charleston, South Carolina, has won a $7 million contract for dredging work at the Navy Submarine Base, Kings Bay, Georgia, and the Marine Corps Support Facility, Blount Island, Florida.

Bids for this project were solicited via the Internet with three received, reports the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD).

Work will be performed in St. Marys, Georgia, with an estimated completion date of December 27, 2019.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, is the contracting activity.

Southern Dredging operates along the Southeast coast from Florida to Norfolk, Va. performing various projects including maintenance dredging, beach nourishment, marsh construction, and other type dredging work throughout the Southeast United States.
