On or about March 1, 2018, Beam & Associates, Inc. will issue a bid package for a project which involves drying, relocation, and removal of dredged material (mud and mud/sand mixture) from the Tidewater Basin, located off Little Neck Road in North Myrtle Beach, SC.

The scope of the work for this project will be as follows:

  • dry the dredged material that is currently stored within the basin and use the dried material to raise/widen the existing inside berms and extend the existing cross-dike;
  • excavate the existing dredged material down to the previous bottom elevation, either remove it from the site or dry it to dike-ready consistency and re-use it to supplement available sand (currently stored within the basin).

The dried/mixed material will then be placed back in the basin to raise the bottom elevation in accordance with the approved Army Corps of Engineers Restoration Plan.

Contractor will also be required to provide, along with his bid proposal, the site location for final permanent material disposal.

According to the official announcement, all work should be completed by September 1, 2018.
