Rønne Havn A/S, the largest traffic and commercial port on the Danish island of Bornholm, announced last week that the port’s internal project team and management received ‘the last and final bids’ (BAFO) for the port expansion project.

Thomas Thors, chairman of the board at Rønne Havn A/S, said: “It is a big and exciting task to plan and project a port expansion. Therefore, of course, it is a pleasure that we have now reached the process where we have a concrete basis for analyzing and assessing which solution is all the best for Rønne Port.”

The three bids were given by:

  • Boskalis International B.V.;
  • Per Aarsleff A/S;
  • Rønne Port Expansion Contractors, a consortium consisting of DEME Infra Marine Contractors NV, M.J. Eriksson A/S and Dredging International NV.

According to the port’s announcement, all three bidders have the necessary expertise and capacity to support the port infrastructure project and it is therefore too early to say something about which company secures the agreement.

“Now we have to go through all the material and get into the overall conditions. Then we have a prerequisite for making a decision,” concluded Mr. Thors.
