Business & Finance

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Los Angeles District, has received application for permit to implement bank stabilization measures in the Hillside Drain Wash, Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

According to the Corps, the city is proposing implementation of bank stabilization measures using stacked gabions and bed stabilization using concrete drop structures in the Hillside Drain Wash.

The proposed project encompasses approximately 1,800 feet of the drain wash from Daniel Drive down gradient to Avalon Avenue.

Overall, the project includes placement of six grade control structures and modification of the earthen banks to a 2:1 slope. The applicant proposed to install bankline stabilization in the form of gabion mattresses and place additional gabion mattresses under the existing wash bed to prevent further scour.

Deadline for sending comments on the proposed measures is July 19, 2017.
