RLB Contracting Awarded GIWW Dredging Contract

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District, recently awarded RLB Contracting Inc. a $5.3 million maintenance dredging contract for the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway, Texas Main Channel Across San Antonio Bay.

The contract, announced on the fbo.gov website, includes maintenance pipeline dredging of approximately 1,346,000 Cubic Yards (CY) of material from the GIWW.

Under the deal, the contractor will perform maintenance dredging of approximately 139,000 CY of material in the vicinity of East San Antonio Bay. Also included in the work is removal of approximately 128,000 CY from the West San Antonio Bay.

The contract also covers dredging of approximately 179,000 CY of material near the intersection of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway and the Matagorda Ship Channel, an additional foot of maintenance dredging in San Antonio Bay reach with approximate quantity of 362,000 CY, and construction of sidecast retaining berms at Beneficial Use Placement Areas with approximate quantity is 90,000 CY.

RLB Contracting will have 125 calendar days to complete this maintenance dredging project.
