Kooiman Marine Group of Zwijndrecht has won a contract from Group De Cloedt for the conversion of their dry cargo vessel DC Eems into a trailing suction hopper dredger.

The DC Eems, currently under management with EemsWerken (family Kornet) from Werkendam, measures approximately 90m x 15m.

Upon completion of this conversion, the vessel will have a hopper of 2.450m³ and will be included in the Group De Cloedt’s dredging fleet under a new name, Kooiman said in its latest announcement.

The entire engineering and conversion will be arranged by Kooiman at their shipyard in Zwijndrecht.

The delivery is scheduled for early 2018.
