Utah Lake State Park Dredging Set for March

Business & Finance

The Utah Lake State Park dredging project will begin mid-March and will be complete by August 1, 2017.

“In short this means that the marina will be closed to all vessel usage during this time period. No launching, no recovering, no slip rentals and limited park access,” said John Curtis, Mayor of Provo.

When this project is complete, the park will have a couple more feet of depth inside the inner marina and main channel, all navigation hazards will have been removed and all ramps extended to their furthers extent.

“We are very excited about this project and the improvements that it will provide to all Utah Lake users,” said Curtis.

“Utah Division of Wildlife Resources understands that this will cause an inconvenience to many Utah Lake marina users and will be working as quickly as possible to reopen the marina.”

Utah Lake, located west of Provo, about 48 miles south of Salt Lake City, is a large freshwater lake that is popular for boating, water sports and fishing.
