Peterhead Harbor Project Moves Along

Business & Finance

McLaughlin & Harvey and its joint venture partner Boskalis Westminster are making good progress with the Peterhead Harbor project.

Piling work to the north harbor wall at Peterhead Harbor is progressing well, the company said in its latest announcement.

The overall project includes, strengthening and deepening of the port as well as 430,556sqft land reclamation with revetment, widening of the harbor entrance and demolition works.

According to McL&H, the harbor will benefit greatly from significantly improved realignment to the existing quay walls and an increased draft which will facilitate larger vessels.

For the project, the company is utilizing an innovative approach to the works with the first use in the UK of an RD steel piling solution.

Under the contract, awarded this September, the completion of the project is set for the first quarter of 2018.
