Phase II of the Multipurpose Sea Cargo Complex Bronka (MSCC Bronka) has been put into operation, reports IAA PortNews.

According to the Federal Marine and River Transport Agency (Rosmorrechflot), the document was signed by the Agency on December 16th 2016.

Fenix LLC, investor and operator of MSCC Bronka, has thus implemented its investment obligations for a container terminal able to handle 1.45 mln TEUs and 260,000 Ro-Ro units per year.

The next phase, to be completed by 2020, is to expand the container terminal capacity to 1.9 million TEUs.

FSUE Rosmorport was responsible for the dredging works at the access canal to MSCC Bronka, bringing its depth to 14.4m.

In the future the MSCC Bronka expansion will help increase the facility’s container throughput to 1.9 million TEUs. Upon completion of the port’s construction and dredging, MSCC Bronka will be able to accommodate Post-Panamax containerships and the ferries of Finnstar class.
