Business & Finance

Waterking, a Dutch company involved in the production of amphibious excavators, has just introduced a complete new range 30/35 ton class amphibious machine.

The WK 300 NG-5 is the first excavator equipped with the latest Tier4 Scania motor with an engine power of 270 PK, the company said in its announcement.

The machine has a fuel tank of 1300 liters and meets the highest emission requirements of the EU, they added.

The WK 300 NG-5 will be used for nature rehabilitation in the area of Zuidlaardermeer.

“The amphibious excavator is perfect for this project because of the strong undercarriage. Each pontoon is equipped with two travel motors. The machine also has a high buoyancy. The upperstructure is a Doosan DX 300 LC-5 with a boom length of 17.5 meters,” Waterking said.

The final aim of the project is to increase the area of (water) reeds to improve the habitat of field-dependent species such as the bittern, greet reed warbles and even otters.

The WK 300 NG-5 will be used to remove the top soil and dig pools till the end of March.
