IHC Built Backhoe Dredger Alberto Aleman Zubieta (VIDEO)

Back in 2013, Royal IHC successfully delivered the new backhoe dredger Alberto Aleman Zubieta to Autoridad del Canal de Panama (ACP) in Panama City.

The vessel was initially deployed for the expansion of the Panama Canal.

Following the completion of the expansion project, the dredger is now performing maintenance dredging tasks along the Canal.

The contract for the design, construction and delivery of the backhoe dredger was signed between ACP and IHC Global Production on 9 April 2011. The keel was laid on 13 December 2011 and the vessel was transported to Panama in 2013.
